Skiing in both Italy and France - Mont Blanc - The highest peak in Europe!


COURMAYEUR - Also called the little pearl of the Aosta valley, surrounded by the Mont Blanc massif. One of the oldest and most famous ski resorts in Italy, and it is not only known for the great skiing, but also for the elegant buildings and the gentle atmosphere. At first Courmayeur was a thermal health village, but now it is one of the most important ski villages in the world, and has a perfect combination between spectacular slopes and a feeling of beeing at a enchanted and exclusive place. In 1680 the first "inn's" were inagurated, and today there are over 70 hotels and a big number of apartments avalible. The skiing takes place between a height of 1224 m and 3843 m, on both the north eastern and the north western part. The Checrouit slopes offers skiing at a height of 2746 m. Here there are no trees, and here you have the best morning sun! A total of 25 slopes and 27 lifts. The north eastern part hasn't got that many slopes, but the ones you find here are wide, and often pass through forests. The afternoon sun and the incredible view over the highest peak in Europe Mont Blanc (4810 m) creates harmony and a feeling of well being.Via 3 lifts you can reach the peak Helbronner (3470 m), and from there you can choose to take the cabin lift to Aiguille du Midi or to ski along the 18 km long Valle Blanche into France. On the way back from Chamonix you can experience the 12 km long Mont Blanc tunnel. Courmayeur is the ski village with the best range of restaurants, pubs, nightclubs and discotheques. You can choose to sit outside in the sun at one of the many outdoor restaurants, or you can sit inside of one of the many cosy pubs and enjoy the great feeling of beeing on vacation. Just watch the Italians, enjoy the delicious food and drinks, and listen to some great music!

LOCATION: North western Italy, ca 33 km from Aosta, ca 106 km from Geneve, ca 150 km from Torino, ca 212 km from Milan. SLOPES: 110 km pist, 33slopes (1 black, 12 red, 9 blue, 11 green). Offpist: Valle Blanche and Mer de Glase. Also summer skiing. LIFTS: 31 lifts with a total capacity of ca 30.000 pers/h. SKI BUS: Yes.CROSS COUNTRY SKI: 35 km prepared tracks at the Ferret valley. SKI SCHOOL: Over 100 teachers have education in different languages, for all category skiiers.SKI RENTAL: On location: slalom and lenght skiing, boots, staffs and snowboard equipment. OTHER SPORT POSSIBILITIES: ice skating, curling, tennis, squash,horse back ridning, swimming, roller skating. ENTERTAINMENT: 3 discotheques, 2 casinos, a movie theatre, restaurants, pubs, pizzerias, cafées, alpine museum. HOTEL AIGLE **
A small family hotel, located in Entreves, ca 300 m from the lifts and ca 1 km to a sport centre with possibilities to ice skate, curling, tennis, squash, climbing. 15 rooms, all with shower/wc, hairdryer, telephone, TV, safety box, some rooms have balcony. The Hotel has a restaurant , a bar and a pivate parking lot.


APARTMENTS IN COURMAYEUR
Different apartment alternatives: 2 -3 - 4 - 5 -6 - 8 beds, disposed in 1-2-3 rooms. Located in entire Courmayeur. All apartments have shower/wc, a fully equipped kitchen, some of them have telephones, TV and balconys.
