MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO- or Santa Maria di Campiglio, as it’s also called, is a chic and sophisticated village, and it is very popular among the italians. It is situated in a beautiful valley 1520 meters above sea level and is surrounded with forests. Madonna di Campiglio is situated in the heart of the Dolomiti di Brenta in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. A long time ago this was a shelter built by a monk, to protect the men who were wandering in the mountains. Today Madonna is a complete winter /summer vacation village with many elegant boutiques, delicious restaurants, pubs and discotheques, World Cup competitions in slalom and snowboard, interesting festivals and carnivals. In Madonna di Campiglio you ski on two different hillsides: the eastern one, and then the western one. The eastern has its highest point at 2267 m above sealevel: Monte Pancuglo.The western one has its peak at 2500 m above sea level at Passo Groseté. On the over 100 km pisted slopes and the 29 ski lifts you get a very varied vacation at the Alpes. The lift system in Madonna is connected with the ones in Marilleva and Folgardia (ca 50km of pisted slopes, and 26 ski lifts)both of them belonging to the Val Sole system. To get there you have to buy the SKIRAMA liftcard Val di Sole wich also includes Pejo Fonti and Tonale. Both of these villages have their own lift systems. All of the ski villages in Val di Sole are priceworthy alternatives with great slopes, nice hotels, modern apartments, restaurants, pubs, boutiques. If you wish to ski even more then you have to get SKIRAMA Adamello-Brenta (103 ski lifts, 260km slopes, and of those 260 km, 145 km of them are served with snow machines). This also includes Pinzolo and Monte Bodone who have their own ski areas.

LOCATION: Northcantral Italy in the Trentino region, ca. 49 km from Marilleva, ca. 60 km from San Michele, ca. 72 km from Trento, ca. 200 km from Milano, Venedig, Innsbruck.

OTHER SPORT POSSIBILITIES: In Madonna di Campiglio there are swimmingpools, iceskatinghalls, horsebackriding, paragliding, squash, tennis, biliards. ENTERTAINMENT: In Madonna di Campiglio there are 35 restaurants, 9 pizzerias, pubs, cafées, movies, 3 discotheques.
